PM Modi To Kickstart Campaign Against Sickle Cell Anemia To Kickstart On June 27

Varanasi, June 26 (TNA) Like the drive against polio, the central government is now going to take up a similar campaign against sickle cell anemia disease in mission mode, beginning on June 27 from Shahdol district of MP. After this, this campaign will be run in 16 identified districts of the state including Varanasi.

Sickle cell disease, which is a genetic disease related to blood, will now be taken head on for its complete eradication, a health department official informed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kickstart the campaign on June 27.

In this block-wise campaign, people will also be told about the cause of the disease and preventive measures. Along with this, necessary investigation and treatment will also be done. CMO Dr. Sandeep Kumar Chaudhary informed told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it on June 27 from 3 pm to 4.30 pm. It will be broadcast in the district including hospitals, health centers and other places.
