Police Vehicle Torched In High-Security Vikramaditya Marg In Lucknow

Lucknow, Oct 4 (TNA) A police vehicle was set on fire by unidentified persons in the high-security Vikramaditya Marg area in the state capital on Monday morning.

The incident happened near the Gautampalli police station and near to the place where Samajwadi Party (SP) Akhilesh Yadav was staging a sit-in with hundreds of his workers after the police stopped him from his scheduled visit to Lakhimpur Kheri.

While there was no official word on who torched the police Gypsy, an official hinted that it might be the handiwork of either the SP workers or some miscreants who might have slipped into the crowds.

The SP chief however said that the police vehicle might have been set on fire by the cops themselves in a bid to discredit the movement of the farmers.
