Prayagraj Airport Tops In Domestic Air Passengers Across Uttar Pradesh

Prayagraj, June 5 (TNA) The holy city of Prayagraj has touched the maximum number of domestic air passengers in the state. The airport has provided air travel to more than 19 lakh passengers in the journey of 53 months since its establishment (2019). This figure is far above the record of any airport in UP. At present, only Lucknow and Varanasi airports are ahead of Prayagraj in terms of number of passengers.

Both these airports are international and international flights also operate here. While there are only domestic flights in Prayagraj. Prayagraj Airport has shown its importance by achieving this feat even after Indigo flight to Gorakhpur was stopped. In such a situation, before the Mahakumbh, once again the claim for international flights has been presented from here.

Talking about the month of May alone, 706 flights carried 60,431 passengers. At present, flights are operating from Prayagraj Airport to 11 cities. In this, Indigo Airlines and Alliance Air are providing facilities for Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Dehradun, Bilaspur, Indore, Raipur, Lucknow, Bhopal, Pune, Bhubaneswar.

Airport Director RR Pandey said that the passengers are being given the highest facilities at the airport. This is the reason why the number is increasing continuously. Preparations are also going on for the expansion of the airport.
