Prayagraj Police Bust Gang Of Cyber Criminals, Five Arrested
Prayagraj, May 24 (TNA) Five members who cheated pensioners posing as treasurer have been arrested, the cyber crime team informed. They used to target retired pensioners by inquiring about their account details in the name of verification after which they withdrew the entire amount from an account.
After taking cognizance of many such complaints, the cybercrime team of Prayagraj has arrested five people including the leader of the gang on Tuesday.
This gang was active in this work for a long time. Many people are involved in this. 9 mobile phones, 15 ATM cards, 11 pre-activated SIM cards have also been recovered from the arrested accused. The police is investigating them. Inspector Rajeev Tiwari, in-charge of Cybercrime Police Station said that the five are being interrogated for further leads.
The arrested cyber criminals include Abdul Mateen, Ankit Agarwal, Basarat Ansari, SK Zeeshan Hussain and Vijay Prasad. Of the arrested criminals, three are from Jharkhand and two from West Bengal.
