Prominent Varanasi Doctor Shoots Himself Dead

Varanasi, Sep 6 (TNA) A prominent city doctor shot himself dead on Monday, leaving the medical fraternity, his colleagues and locals in shock. According to information available, 52-year-old Dr Parag Bajpayi shot himself from his licensed revolver in the washroom of his house in Kaivalyadham colony of Bhelupur.

He was a known doctor of the city and was director of the Vaibhav hospital. Police have taken the weapon used in the suicide and the body has been sent for post-mortem.

People close to him say that he had been depressed ever since his father - Radha Mohan Bajpayi, also a doctor passed away due to Covid.

Police is exploring all possibilities, including questioning the family, the hospital staff and close associates.
