Rahul Gandhi To Spend “Considerable Time” In Prayagraj In Second Edition Of Bharat Jodo Yatra
Prayagraj, July 28 (TNA) The second edition of the fairly succesful Bharat Jodo Yatra of former National President of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Rahul Gandhi is going to touch Prayagraj, home to Anand Bhawan, the family property of the Nehrus. According to information, the Gandhi scion is starting the Yatra
from Porbandar in Gujarat from August 15 and it will pass through the Hindi heartland, covering major North-Indian states.
Rahul is likely to stay in and around Prayagraj for 2-3 days. Prayagraj City Congress Committee President Pradeep Mishra Anshuman however told media persons that it has not yet been decided when this Yatra will reach Prayagraj, but he will definitely come to Prayagraj. Instructions have been issued from the top leadership to prepare for it, he further added.
A senior party leader also expressed hope that some big faces of the opposition, including SP chief Akhilash Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, may also cdrop in. Senior party leader Digvijay Singh has been made in-charge of this visit.
First phase of Bharat Jodo Yatra was started by Rahul from Kanyakumari on September 7, in which Rahul walked for 136 days. But this time it will start from Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi.
