Rain Brings Some Respite To NCR, Other Parts Of UP Continue To Singe
Ghaziabad, June 19 (TNA) After days of intense heat wave, Monday afternoon brought some relief for the National Capital Region (NCR) as the skies opened up and it rained heavily. WHile the day for NCR started with a drizzle in the morning, around 3:15 pm, it began to pour, giving the much needed respite.
The Met department had already predicted showers in the NCR and in the last 24-hours, the region has received 5 mm of rains. The minimum temperature in Delhi and neighbouring areas on Sunday was 28.6 degrees celsius and the maxim was 38.6 degrees celsius.
Other parts of Uttar Pradesh however continue to face intense heat wave conditions, which were compounded with long power cuts. The state government has alerted the health department to ensure full preparedness of the infrastructure and manpower as many people have reportedly died in the past few days in what appeared to be heat stroke.
