LUCKNOW || The National Human Rights Commission has sought response from DGP, UP in the complaint presented by activist Dr Nutan Thakur about the alleged encounter of Rakesh aka Hanuman Pandey by STF in Sarojininagar, Lucknow on August 9, 2020.

The Commission in its order said that the complainant alleges that genuineness of the encounter is questionable, a copy of the complaint was being sent to the DGP, UP calling for a report in the matter within 06 weeks, fixing October 23, 2020 as next date of hearing.

Thakur in her complaint has said that the way his encounter took place, has raised many questions. His father, a retired army person, Baldutt Pandey has alleged that he was picked up from his house in Lucknow and killed. He has also said that most of his cases had ended, hence they don’t even know when award was declared on him.

As per the complaint, STF claimed Rakesh as awardee of Rs One lakh in morning while in evening it said the award was of 50,000 rupees. The case in Audyogik thana of Prayagraj in which award has been declared against Rakesh, does not even mention him as accused.

STF claims that it pursued the Innova car, which hit a tree but there is no dent on the Innova car. Even the number plate of the car is found broken at the same place, which is under doubt.
