Rape Accused Out On Bail In UP Try To Abduct Victim, Kill The Eye Witness

Lucknow, August 16 (TNA) A witness of an alleged rape case was shot dead in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday, raising serious question marks on the law and order situation in the state, specially the safety of women. According to information available, a young woman was raped in a village of Kairana area of ​​Shamli district two years ago.

In this case, two accused from the village had gone to jail but both are now out on bail. On Monday morning, the victim was going to the temple with her friend when the rape accused duo dragged the girl and started taking her to the forest. Scared at the sudden turn of events, the friend rushed to victims home and informed them about the incident.

The girl's mother and a witness in the case Ajay rushed to the spot and faced the accused who then dragged Ajay to the forest and shot him dead. On receiving this information, Additional SP reached the spot. Police have sent Ajay's body for postmortem and a manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants.
