Rape Case Filed Against BCCI Match Referee Varun Kumar At Indirapuram Police Station In Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, August 6 (TNA) A rape case has been filed against BCCI match referee and former Ranji Trophy player Varun Kumar In Ghaziabad's Indirapuram police station, an official informed. He is accused of spiking the cold drink of mother of a budding young cricketer and then raping her.

The complainant is resident of Ghaziabad and the 38-year-old Varun resides in ATS Society at Indirapuram. He has since been missing and is on the run, police said.

The woman has alleged that she had gone to the flat of theBCCI match referee on August 3 to give him the file of her son, a budding cricketer, and there he spiked her cold drink and then took advantage.

She also told the police that when she regained consciousness, she found her clothes soiled and that she was told by the former cricketer, who now also works as a senior sports officer with the BSNL, that she was not well and that she should leave and go to her home.

She came home and then approached the police after overcoming the fear of physical harm that Kumar had threatened her with.
