Retired IFS Officer Kills Self At Gomtinagar Home, Was Ailing For Some Time

Lucknow, February 25 (TNA) A retired IFS officer shot himself dead at his Lucknow residence on Friday evening, police said. The 67-year-old Atibal Singh first locked hismelf up in the bathroom and then shot himself. He was rushed to the Sahara hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police has recovered his licensed revolver from the bathroom. It is said that he had been ailing for some time and that off late his spine had also started troubling him. He lived with his family at his residence in Vishal Khand-2 and is survived by his wife Asha Singh, son Abhishek Singh and two daughters Akanksha Singh and Anamika Singh.

Elder daughter Akanksha Singh is married and the younger daughter was recently selected in the forest department and is undergoing training at Coimbatore. Son Abhishek Singh works in Noida. His wife and domestic staff were not at home when the incident happened.
