Rigzin Samphel Removed As UP's Excise Commissioner, Put In Waiting
Lucknow, July 19 (TNA) Rigzin Samphel, a 2003 batch IAS officer was late on Monday removed as the excise commissioner of the state, a government official informed. He was appointed as the excise commissioner in June this year.
An upright officer, known for his simplicity and honesty, he was reportedly removed for his "failure to handle the tough department well enough". He has been put in waiting.
A 2004 batch officer Sainthil Pandiyan has been named his successor. P Guruprasad, a 1999 batch IAS officer has been made the new MD of the UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam. Anamika Singh of the 2004 batch has been given the charge of Basic Education.
Saroj Kumar has been made the new special secretary of APC wing. He had been reinstated three days after being in suspension as the MD, Poorvanchal Power Distribution Corporation in Varanasi.
Shahid Manzar Rizvi of the 2006 batch who was waitlisted has been sent as special secretary in the APC wing.
