Robbers Strike At Indiranagar Home Of A Contractor, Kill Lady And Decamp With Cash And Jewellery

Lucknow, July 6 (TNA) An elderly woman was killed and her house robbed in Indiranagar locality of the state capital Lucknow on Wednesday, police said. The crime was committed in flat number 404 of FM Apartment in Shakti Nagar belonging to a contractor Waseem Khan. He had left the house to offer Namaz at a nearby mosque and his wife was all alone when the robbers struck.

The trio rung the door bell and when the lady came out to check, they forced her inside on gunpoint and later gagged her. She died of suffocation. They then robbed the entire house and decamped with jewellery worth lakhs and cash. As the robbery was in progress, the door bell rung again as the blood sample collection guy from a nearby diagnostics centre had come.

The three criminals then barged out of the house and decamped with the robbed items. Some neighbours and the collection agent tried to stop them but they managed to flee. Police has since launched a investigation and is going through the CCTV footage in which they gang has been spotted.
