Rs 2.08 Crore Cash Seized From An i20 Car In Muzaffarnagar, 96 Gram Gold Also Recovered

Muzaffarnagar, April 28 (TNA) The Muzaffarnagar police on Friday seized a whopping cash of Rs 2.08 crores during a routine checking in a car. According to polcie officials, not only was Rs 2.08 crore recovered from the car but also 96 grams of gold. Police have arrested the car driver Shashank Sharma and have informed the Income Tax department about the seizure.

Now the cops and IT sleuths are engaged in questining the driver about whom the cash belonged to. The seizure was made at the Bhangela check post of NH-58 of Khatauli.

“The cash and gold seized by FST team (Flying Squad Team/Udandasta Dal) during intensive checking at the Muzaffarnagar-Meerut border (Bhangela Chowki)” an official informed.

An official said that it is likely that the cash recovery made from an i20 car was to be used in the civic body polls, for whcih campaigning is underway across the state.
