Rs One Crore Cash Seized by GRP At Varanasi Cantt Railway Station, Duo Under Arrest
Varanasi, March 7 (TNA) In a big haul in Varanasi on Tuesday, teh Government Railway Police (GRP) seized Rs one crore in cash. The seizure was made during a checking at the Cantt railway station.
The money was recovered from two passengers who were going from Varanasi to Dhanbad. They have been taken in custody and their interrogation is udnerway, an official informed.
The official further said that the GRP team was on a routine inspection on board the Dehradun Express when they developed suspicion on the duo. Money is said to belong to a big trader of the city. The Income Tax department was informed of the lasrge cash seizure and its officials have reached the police station to coordinate further action.
The accused, it is said, are employees of the Khatu Ji Shyam Traders and it is suspected that the money belongs to the company.
