Samajwadi Party Leader Arrested For Destroying Evidence In Accidental Death Of Lady Cop’s Son
Lucknow, November 23 (TNA) Former Samajwadi Party (SP) District Panchayat member Ravindra Singh has also been made an accused in the accidental death of ASP Shweta Srivastava's nine-year-old son in Gomti Nagar extension of the capital Lucknow. He was arrested by the police on Wednesday evening for trying to destroy evidence.
On Tuesday, ASP's nine-year-old son Namish was hit hard by an SUV. The innocent child had died in the accident. Ravindra Singh's son Sarthak Singh was driving the SUV in the accident that took place at 5.30 am on G-20 Road near Janeshwar Mishra Park. Investigation revealed that his companion Devashree was also present in the SUV at that time.
Even after hitting the innocent child, the driver did not stop the SUV and ran away. Police arrested both the accused and an FIR has been registered against them under the section of culpable homicide. Shweta was posted as ACP Gomtinagar for a long time. Gomtinagar extension also comes in this circle. The accident also happened in the same area. During her posting in Gomtinagar, Shweta had taken strict action by campaigning against stuntmen at Marine Drive and other places.
After the accident, local shopkeeper Ashraf Ali lodged a complaint in Gomtinagar police station on Wednesday that skating is done near Janeshwar Mishra Park and on G-20 road, which causes a lot of problems.
ADCP East Syed Ali Abbas said that on the basis of the complaint, Awadh Academy Club, its coach Divyansh Arora and Gaurav have been booked under section 268 (act causing trouble to common people), section 336 (act causing danger to human life) and A case has been registered under section 283 (causing danger to a person by causing obstruction in public way).
