Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki Shifted From Kanpur Jail To Maharajganj Prison

Kanpur, December 21 (TNA) Samajwadi Party (SP) legislator from Sisamau in Kanpur, Irfan Solanki was on Wednesday shifted to the Maharajganj jail. Solanki, who is one of the better known faces of the SP and also a part of the youth leader caucus close to party chief Akhilesh Yadav, has been in prison after being charged by a woman of setting her house on fire.

The police was on a lookout for the 43-year-old leader but he evaded law and was untraceable for many days. With tightening of the police noose around he had however surrended before the Kanpur police commissioner some time back and sent to jail.

He was on Wednesday shifted to the Maharajganj jail amid tight security. When being transferred into the prison van from the Kanpur jail, he got emotional seeing his mother and wife. SP chief Akhilesh yadav had also met him in the jail.
