Second Edition Of The CII MSME Conclave Held
Lucknow, February 17 (TNA) The 2nd edition of the MSME conclave was successfully conducted virtually by the Confederation of Indian Industry on Thursday. The event was co sponsored by Credlix, SIDBI & Aetos.
The event focused on encouraging the micro, small & medium enterprises towards adoption of technology, create awareness about the new-age financing options and how a greater outreach can be facilitated through e-commerce and good packaging.
Navneet Sehgal, ACS MSME & Export Promotion, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, who was the Chief Guest of the event briefed about the relevance and importance of use of technology for MSMEs to leverage the existing benefits in the pandemic times.
He also emphasised and urged the Industry associations to encourage more and more MSMEs to get themselves registered in order to enable them to reap the benefits of various govt. schemes. He also gave an insight on the intention and initiatives of the GoUP to provide access to technology through an easier and low cost platform collectively.
He informed that pilot projects are being run in District Moradabad and Varanasi to enable business units to use CAD (computer aided designing) facilities and other common cloud services. He also informed that the GoUP is providing various kinds of support for more and more business units to register on various ecommerce platforms like AMAZON, Flipkart, eBay to reach to a wider consumer base.
Vinay Sharma, Vice President, Ernsy & Young providing advisory services to GoUP briefed about the various schemes of GoUP to facilitate and support the MSMEs under the flagship scheme of “One District One product” and ecommerce portal www.odopmart.com run by the Govt. to support the local MSMEs to sell their products online.
Vinamra Agarwal, Vice Chairman, CII UP & CEO Technical Associates Ltd moderated the event and opined that post COVID, technology has jumped from enabler to key differentiator and also praised the efforts of the GoUP for taking steps to provide access to emerging technologies like cloud computing for MSMEs.
Captain Jitendra Sharma, Co-founder & Director of Strategy & Design, Aetos Digilog briefed the audience about the challenges being faced by MSMEs in the logistics supply chain management and ways and means to overcome these challenges through user-friendly digitisation and proper integration tools.
Deepak Talwar, National Security Officer, Microsoft India opined that with digitisation there has been a splur in growth and also the risks involved. He briefed about the ways and means MSMEs can mitigate the risks in use of technology and urged for proper integration in People, Process and Technology.
The Conference was interactive and well attended by business owners, start-ups, MSMEs and academia side.
Ajay Thakur, Head-SME & Startup also shared with the participants how listing could help them fund their digitization plans as well as raise capital. The session also focussed on New Age financing options for MSMEs.
Manasi Kulkarni, Associate Director-SME Solutions, Crisil, Pramit Joshi, Director, Credlix, Kailash Kamal Varodia, CFO, RXIL and Abhishek Singh, Chief Business officer, LendingKart shared with the audiences various financing options including Export Factoring and Bill Discounting facilities available for the MSMEs for meeting their working capital and other financial requirements.
Madhab Chakraborty, Joint Director and Regional head, Indian institute of Packaging spoke about the importance and impact of packaging of products to boost up the sales through various online ecommerce platforms.
Avinash Gupta , Managing Director, Dun & Bradstreet India shared the importance of ESC score for MSMEs and Bharti Balkrishnan, Country Head, Shopify India briefed about the various social media tools and platforms available got MSMEs to strengthen their online presence.
