Security Beefed Up Across Uttar Pradesh On Anniversary Of Babri Demolition

Lucknow, December 6 (TNA) Security has been beefed up across Uttar Pradesh on the anniversary of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya on Monday. According to senior police officials, vigil has been stepped up to ensure that their is no ontoward incident on the day.

The DGP, Mukul Goel has ordered the police to also see that no event - either in favour or against the demolition, is observed. Hindus celebrate the day as ‘Shaurya Diwas’ while Muslims observe it as a ‘Black Day’.

150 PAC and six CRPF companies have been put on duty other than the local police in sensitive parts of the state. Extra care is being taken in sensitive places like Mathura, Ayodhya and Varanasi, an official told TNA.

Prohibitory orders have been clamped in Mathura, specially after some Hindu outfits had announced that they will perform ‘Jal Abhishek’ at the Shahi Maszid.
