Seven Cattle Smugglers Injured In Police Encounter At Ghaziabad, Arrested

Ghaziabad, Nov 11 (TNA) Seven cattle smugglers were arrested after an encounter in Loni area of Ghaziabad on Thursday when they were slaughtering a cow in a warehouse. In the gun battle between the smugglers and the police, several rounds were fired and all seven culprits were injured.

On information that a cow had been slaughtered in a warehouse at the Loni border, police raided it and there was abrief exchange of fire. Two bullets hit the jeep of SHO Rajendra Tyagi also in which he and his driver escaped.

SHO Rajendra Tyagi informed reporters that on November 11, at 6.10 am, news was received that a cow was being slaughtered in a godown near Behta Hajipur. On this information, the warehouse was raided. Seeing themselves surrounded, the accused fired seven rounds at the police. In self-defence, the police also fired 13 rounds.

Police have recovered three cut cows, seven pistols, 12 cartridges, 7 shells, two axes, five knives and ropes etc. from the spot. The meat sample has been sent for examination after calling the vet. The accused injured in the encounter include Mustakim, Salman, Monu, Asif, Intezar, Nazim and Bhular.
