Shahjahanpur Police Bust Inter-State Drug Smuggling Gang, Opium Worth Rs 11 Crores Seized

Shahjahanpur, Sep 15 (TNA) In a big catch, the Shahjahanpur police on Wednesday arrested three drug smugglers with opium worth Rs 11 crores, Rs two lakh in cash and 18 ATM cards. The arrests were made by teh Crime branch.

SP, S Anand said that two youths had come to Shahjahanpur from Haryana in a car. They took 11 kg of opium from a smuggler and were on their way back to Haryana when the police team, on a concrete tip-off, intercepted their vehicle and nabbed them.

The district police chief said that this opium was brought from Jharkhand by a smuggler, who delivered opium to these youths. The SP said that many more facts have come to the fore, investigation is being done.
