SHUATS Vice Chancellor RB Lal Arrested, Sent In Judicial Custody Till January 12 To Naini Jail
Prayagraj, January 1 (TNA) Vice Chancellor of Shuats University, Prof. RB Lal was arrested by the police on Sunday. This arrest has been made in a case registered in the case of attempt to murder. He had called the striking teachers to the university guest house for talks were he was talking to the teachers when the police arrived and arrested him.
On the orders of the court, he was sent to Naini jail in judicial custody till January 12. The police took him to the Community Health Center located at Chaka Block for medical treatment. After this he was presented in the court of ACJM 7 Falak Ganguly. The court accepted the remand application filed by the police.
This arrest took place from the guest house of the university. University teachers were on strike for 11 months due to non-payment of salaries. Agitation and protests were going on regarding this for a long time.
Lal has been arrested on the FIR of former BJP leader Diwakar Nath Tripathi who had filed a case in Naini police station on Sunday that he had come to Arail Dam Road for a walk at around 6.30 am on Sunday morning. During this time, his friend Sarvendra Vikram Singh was also with him.
While returning, Vice Chancellor RB Lal came with his two companions in a Fortuner car and when he challenged him with the intention of attempting murder, his two companions opened fire. In which Diwakar and his companion Sarvendra narrowly escaped.
