SP Lawmaker Slams Yogi For Not Nudging Schools To Waive Off Fees, To Protest In Kanpur On Thursday

KANPUR || Samajwadi Party (SP) lawmaker in Kanpur Amitabh Bajpai will be leading a "peaceful Gandhian protest" in the city on Thursday against the fees being taken by private schools. In a statement Bajpai, who is hugely popular in the city said that due to the pandemic many small time businessman, people doing jobs, show keepers have suffered big time due to the lockdown.

He also charged the Yogi Adityanath government in the state of being "power-drunk and arrogant" so much so that it was not pain shed to sustained demands of hapless parents who are not able to pay the fees. "The problem with the present BJP government is that it is arrogant due to the numbers it has in the state assembly and is not ready to list to the voices of people" the SP leader said further.

Bajpai said the parents, other than being burdened by the fees, now also have a huge expense at hand as they are forced to buy smart phones to children due to online studies, purchase data, burning a hole in their pockets. He also slammed the prime minister who he mused, took pride that his one call made people give up gas subsidies and do what not.

"It is sad that not once has PM Narendra Modi appealed to the school managements to show large heart and waive off the fees of the pandemic period," he rued. Bajpai added in the same breath that the SP cannot be mute spectator to the problems of the people and that it would holding a protest march at 11 am from the Shikshak Park to the Collectorate on Thursday.
