SP Legislator Pooja Pal Writes To CM Yogi, Seeks Y+ Security Cover For Herself

Prayagraj, February 26 (TNA) Pooja Pal, the Samajwadi Party (SP) legislator from Chail in Kaushambi has written to chief minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking enhanced security cover for herself. She is also likely to personally meet the chief minister and hand over the letter to him.

Pooja Pal, is widow of former Bahuajn Samaj Party (BSP) lawmaker Raju Pal, and her close aide Umesh pal, was killed in a daylight shootout in Prayagraj on Friday. In the letter, Pooja Pal while pointing out the recent incident has feared for her life and demanded that she be given Y+ category security.

She has said that she is the litigant in the murder case of her husband, trial of which is entering its final stages in the special CBI Court of Lucknow and after the killing of prime witness Umesh Pal and his gunner, it was a possibility that people behind the killings might target her as well.

The recent killings in Prayagraj have sent shockwaves in the state and has once again triggered fears that mafia don Atiq Ahmad who is prime accused in the Raju Pal murder and is suspected to be the brain behind the murder of Umesh Pal, might try to harm Pooja Pal in a fresh bid to get himself off the hook in the ongoing case.
