SP MLA From Kanpur Amitabh Bajpai Sentenced To One Year Prison Term By MPMLA Court

Kanpur, Nov 12 (TNA) After former UP minister Mohd Azam Khan, the MPMLA court has given a verdict on another Samajwadi Party MLA. The court of Special Judge MPMLA on Friday sentenced Amitabh Bajpai, SP MLA from Aryanagar seat of Kanpur, to one year imprisonment.

Along with this, he has been released for appeal along with two bonds of Rs 20,000 each, while granting bail. After the final debate on November 2 in the case, the decision was deferred on Wednesday and the date for the verdict was given on November 11.

After Friday afternoon, the accused MLA was summoned to the courtroom and after everyone was taken out and closed the doors, the process was started in the presence of lawyers. He is charged with obstructing a government official fom discharging his duties in October 2011.
