SP’s Ujjwal Raman Singh To Join Congress Today, To Contest From Allahabad

Prayagraj, April 2 (TNA) Former Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Ujjwal Raman Singh will join Congress today and is likely to contest from the Allahabad parliamentary constituency. He will join Congress in the presence of senior party leaders in Lucknow. He has in the past contested on an SP ticket from Karchana.

, will join Congress on Tuesday. This program will be organized in Lucknow. It is almost certain that Ujjwal Raman Singh will contest from Allahabad Lok Sabha seat under the banner of India Alliance. Singh is going to join Congress with the consent of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Kunwar Revati Raman Singh.

Speculations about Ujjwal Raman joining Congress were going on for many days. Recently, during treatment at PGI, Kunwar Revati Raman Singh was called on by Congress National General Secretary and UP in-charge Avinash Pande and Congress State President Ajay Rai. Since then, the discussion of Ujjwal contesting from Allahabad Lok Sabha seat on Congress ticket has intensified.

Kunwar Revati Raman has been MLA from the Karchana assembly seat eight times. Apart from this, he has been elected MP twice from Allahabad Lok Sabha constituency. Kunwar Revati Raman had defeated senior BJP leader Dr Murali Manohar Joshi. Revati Raman, one of the tallest leaders of SP, was also once a member of the Rajya Sabha.
