Sri Lankan High Commissioner Calls On Yogi, Gifts A Rock From Ashok Vatika To Ram Temple In Ayodhya
Lucknow, October 28 (TNA) High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Milinda Moragoda made a courtesy call on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence in the state capital on Thursday. On this occasion, discussions were held to further strengthen the relations between Sri Lanka and India, especially Uttar Pradesh, an official informed.
The Chief Minister said that India and Sri Lanka have cultural relations since ancient times. Ramayana sites located in Sri Lanka further strengthen these ties with India, especially Uttar Pradesh. Expressing his gratitude to the High Commissioner for bringing a stone of Ashoka Vatika, he said that there are many holy places in Sri Lanka associated with the memories of Lord Shri Ram.
The Chief Minister said that most of the places associated with Lord Buddha are the pride of all of us in Uttar Pradesh. Lord Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath. Kapilvastu was their capital.
Lord Buddha spent most of the Chaturmas in Sravasti. The land which got the maximum benefit of story listening and satsang is Kaushambi and along with this, Kushinagar, the place of Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha and Sankisa is also in Uttar Pradesh.
