STF Files Three FIRs Against Asad, Sharp Shooter Ghulam Killed In Jhansi Encounter

Jhansi, April 14 (TNA) The Special Task Force (STF) which gunned down Asad, son of mafia don turned politician Atique Ahmed’s son and his sharp shooter aide Mohd Ghulam in Jhansi on Thursday has filed three FIR’s against the duo at the Badgaon police station. These FIR’s have been registered under the Arms Act and an attempt to murder. According to police officials the first FIR (crime number 74/23) pertains to the attempt made by the killed duo on the members of the STF team which ambushed them.

Another FIR (75/23) accuses them of keeping illegal foreign firearms and cartridges. All the three FIR’s have been written by STF Deputy SP Navendu Singh. It has also been mentioned in the FIR that when the deceased criminals opened fire the DySP shot two bullets, circle officer (CO) Vimal Singh fired one shot while Inspector Gyanendra Rai and Anil Singh also fired one-one bullet each.

The head constables Sunil Kumar, Pankaj Tiwari, Bhupendra and Sushil Kumar fired one-one bullets from their pistols. In all 9 bullets were fired by the STF team. Meanwhile the opposition leaders, including Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati, Asaduddin Owaisi have raised questions on the legality of the encounter, terming it a staged one. The UP Police top officials have however trashed these allegations.
