Students Handed Out Punishment For Ragging Stage Sit-In At BHU, Plead Innocence
Varanasi, December 20 (TNA) A sit-in demonstration has begun in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) by the two students who say they have been mplicated in a ragging case. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) students are protesting against the punishment for ragging in front of the Vice-Chancellor's Office located at the Central Office in the campus.
The dental students say that 2 students have been suspended for 6 months for forced ragging. At the same time, a fine of up to Rs 25 thousand has also been imposed on 4-5 students of BDS second year. The students however claim they have notning to do with the incident. They are also demanding an immediate withdrawl of the punishment handed out to them.
