Students Misbehave With The Gorakhpur University Vice-Chancellor, Clash With Police

Gorakhpur, July 22 (TNA) Demonstration of Vidyarthi Parishad against fee hike and suspension of students at Deendayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University turned violent on Friday evening. The protest has been going on for the past four days. When the protestors ransacked the office, abused and heckled the Vice Chancellor and the Registrar, police used force to disperse the unruly mob of students.

Fees has been increased by up to 400 percent in the university from this session. Student organizations are protesting about this. Student Union workers were continuously agitating to withdraw the fee hike. On this, four students were expelled by the university administration. After this, the workers of Vidyarthi Parishad were protesting since July 18. On Friday, the protesters reached the Vice-Chancellor's office and sat at the gate with the announcement that they would neither let anyone in nor out until the fee hike roll back was announced.
