Sultanpur Court Takes Cognizance Of Excise Officials' High-handedness During Search Operation

Sultanpur, Oct 31 (TNA) A court in Sultanpur has taken cognizance of accusations that during a search operation, sleuths of the excise department had snatched money and jewellery from the women inmates of the house.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) had registered a case and ordered action after investigating the matter. On this, the police have started investigation by registering a case against the Excise Inspector and four constables.

The matter is of Malwa village of Jaisinghpur area. On May 29, the Inspector of Excise Department, Mahendra Pratap Verma, along with four constables raided Sumitra's house. It is alleged that during this time the inspector and us passersby snatched the money and jewelery of the women kept in the house. He also threatened to kill him if they protested.
