Survey Ranks SGPGI Lucknow As Third Top Government Medical Facility In The Country

Lucknow, December 8 (TNA) In a research conducted by a reputed private agency, the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI)has been ranked among the top medical institutions of the country. The medical facility has been ranked 3rd among the major government hospitals of the country in the ranking of The Week-Hansa Research Survey-2023.

Ahead of SGPGI are AIIMS Delhi and PGI Chandigarh whoc have got the first and second rank respectively. In the overall ranking of hospitals - the ranking made by combining both government and private hospitals, SGPGI is at number 7. In this category, above SGPGI, there are two government institutions and private medical institutions like CMC Vellore, Apollo Chennai, Medanta Gurugram and Indraprastha Apollo Delhi.

Major medical institutions and hospitals of 17 cities of the country have been included in this survey. These include cities like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Jaipur, Indore, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Pune. In the survey, considering medical education, research and patient care as important parameters, rankings have been determined on the basis of various aspects like treatment quality, available medical facilities, infrastructure, doctor qualification, research and innovation.
