Tall Buildings Should Not Be Allowed To Be Built Near Religious Places, Yogi Tells Officials
Lucknow, December 27 (TNA) To meet the target of a ten trillion dollar economy, instructions have been given to identify areas of new townships near Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and industrial areas in the master plan. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath this week saw the presentation of GIS based Master Plan-2031 being prepared for Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Mathura-Vrindavan.
He has instructed the officials of the Housing Department that religious cities are identified by the temples and ancient buildings there. In the proposed master plan, the antiquity and historicity of such buildings should be taken care of and construction of buildings higher than the height of buildings of such importance should not be allowed. Its provision should be made mandatory in the master plan. Besides, the Chief Minister has also given instructions to reserve 15 to 16 percent green area in the master plan.
In the master plan, the Chief Minister called for making provisions for operation of electric buses in the cities, along with the operation of conventional fuel buses only on the outskirts of the city and arrangements for multi-level parking. He has also given instructions to identify areas for Medicity, Sports City, Education City, Convention Center etc. in the master plan of the three cities to implement the investment proposals received for Mathura-Vrindavan, Gorakhpur, Varanasi.
The Chief Minister said that along with Gorakhpur, Purvanchal has an important role in achieving the target of 10 trillion dollar economy. Therefore, develop Gorakhpur as a gateway city. The jetty of Ramgarh Tal is quite old, hence a new jetty should be built, he directed officials. The Chief Minister has also asked to make master plan provisions for preserving natural lakes and reservoirs, developing lake front, river front and religious areas, promoting terracotta (clay art) products of Gorakhpur. He has also given instructions to extend the masterplan to the Ring Road in Varanasi and to increase tourist facilities in Mathura-Vrindavan.
