Tension Brewing In Lucknow As Rahul Gandhi Says He Will Visit Lucknow Despite Denial of Permission By UP Govt

Lucknow, Oct 6 (TNA) A situation of confrontation is developing between the Indian National Congress (INC) and the UP government on Wednesday afternoon with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi being denied permission to come to Lucknow but the Gandhi scion sticking to his guns and saying he will go ahead with his plans.

Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said he will visit Lucknow and Lakhimpur Kheri along with Chief Ministers of Punjab and Chhattisgarh despite being denied permission by the administration.

“Govt has denied permission to Rahul Gandhi. If he arrives in Lucknow, we'll request him at the airport not to visit Lakhimpur Kheri & Sitapur. SP & DM of Lakhimpur & Sitapur have urged us to stop him from coming in wake of law & order situation”, DK Thakur, the Lucknow Police Commissioner has said.
