Tension, Violence in Meerut Village After Youth Shot Dead In Broad Day Light

Meerut, April 10 (TNA) Tension has been reported from Hastinapur, neighbouring Meerut city on Monday after angry people indulged in stone pelting and torching of vehicles to vent their anger at the murder of a village youth late on Sunday. The houses of the accused were pelted with stones and the fields were also set on fire.

On information, force of several police stations reached and tried to control the situation. Firefighters extinguished the fire. A youth was shot dead in Hastinapur on Sunday evening by two bike riders. The relatives immediately took the injured to Mawana CHC, where doctors declared him brought dead. When the body reached the village after the post-mortem on Monday, the anger of the people flared up.

The angry mob torched the houses of the accused and pelted stones. The fields of the accused were also set on fire. SP Dehat Kamlesh Bahadur, who reached the spot, has deployed heavy force in the area and curfew-like situation is prevailing in the area.
