Three GRP Cops Sent To Lines For Brutally Assaulting Youth In Chitrakoot Police Station

Chitrakoot, January 1 (TNA) Three cops have been sent to lines as punishment for brutally thrashing three students in GRP Police station, an official said on Monday. The cops who have facted action include Police station head, a sub-inspector and three constables.

GRP SP Vipul Kumar Srivastava had come to the headquarters and investigated the matter after which the A report has also been lodged against them in the GRP police station. CO has been instructed to investigate the matter.

Student Om Narayan, a resident of Chheer village of Chitrakoot police station area of Naya village, had come to Chitrakootdham railway station on December 25 after being angry at home. The GRP constable took him to the police station on the pretext of asking for a ticket. When brothers Omprakash and Dhanraj reached there to get him freed, the GRP constables caught them too.

It is alleged that all three were beaten severely in the police station. When the family members of the victim students lodged a complaint in the police station, no action was taken. Later, GRP SP Vipul Kumar Srivastava came to the headquarters and investigated the matter. After this, Police Station Head GRP Tripuresh Kaushik along with SI Sandeep Kumar, constable Vinod Kumar, Ramkaran, Muqaddar Singh have been put on the line.
