Three-inter-state Drug Smugglers Arrested By Chitrakoot Police

Chitrakoot, June 12 (TNA) Three interstate ganja smugglers have been arrested in Chitrakoot. 53 kg ganja, two pistols, two cars and 10 thousand cash have been recovered from them. Narcotics Task Force Jhansi and Sadar Kotwali Police Team near Khoh made the arrests. About 53 kg of ganja has been recovered from their possession. Its value is said to be around 13 lakh rupees.

Among the smugglers, one is a resident of Orissa, Chhattisgarh and one is from Chitrakoot headquarters. On Tuesday, in Raghav Auditorium located in the SP office, Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh said that Chandan Pandey, in charge of Narcotics Task Force Jhansi, took the help of Sadar Kotwal Upendra Singh to catch the ganja smugglers on the information of the informer.

Late Monday night, both teams caught Ismail Khan, a resident of Kabir Nagar Raipur Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Sahu, a resident of Rajamanda Thana M Rampur Kalahandi Odisha and Vijay Gupta, a resident of Jagdishganj Karvi, near Khoh underpass. According to the police, all three were supplying ganja brought from Odisha.

During interrogation, the smugglers said that they buy ganja from Odisha at a low price and supply it to various districts of UP, Bihar and MP states. They said they were caught while loading Ganja in Vijay Gupta's vehicle in Chitrakoot. Police have sent all three smugglers to jail. Four other cases of ganja smuggling are also registered against accused Vijay.
