Tourists Evacuated Briefly From Taj Mahal After Hoax Bomb Threat
Agra, March 4 (TNA) The Taj Mahal, popular with domestic and global tourists, as the ultimate icon of love, was evacuated on Thursday after a hoax call from someone who claimed a bomb had been placed in the iconic tourist destination.
After being closed as the police and bomb disposal squads combed the sprawling campus, the monument was again thrown open to tourists at around 11.15 am. Police officials clarified that there was no explosive found.
The threat call was received on 112 - Uttar Pradesh Police's emergency number from 8318881301, a number which belonged to Firozabad. Further action against the hoax caller is being done, an official informed.
