Train Passenger From Jehanabad Caught With Rs 11.5 Lakh Cash At Varanasi Cantt Station

Varanasi, January 13 (TNA) A rail passenger caught with Rs 11.5 lakh at the Cantt station on Friday while the cops were checking the train amidst heightened security in the run up to the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.

The Income Tax and ATS team has seized the money and is interrogating the passenger. GRP Cantt officer Hemant Singh said that the accused Shailesh Kumar is a resident of Jehanabad, Bihar. During interrogation, he admitted that the money belonged to the rice mill operator of Jehanabad Anthua in Bihar.

He further added that he was returning to Bihar after recovery from Ghoraval of Varanasi and Sonbhadra.
