Two Students Of MTTM Awarded With Gold Certification
Aligarh, April 24 (TNA) Shivam Arora and Saniye Zahra, students of Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM), 4th semester at the Department of Commerce, AMU have been awarded the Gold Certification for their excellent performance during the online summer training conducted by Tourism Skills under the Voice of India Tourism (VOIT) in which they submitted their assignments and got selected for gold certification.
“VOIT is helping around 2000 students from over 70 Universities and other Travel and Tourism Management Institutes in India with virtual training as COVID-19 pandemic had made onsite industry internships nearly impossible.Renowned travel and tour companies from all over the country had partnered with VOIT to organize the programme and the sessions were conducted by industry stalwarts”, said Prof. Sheeba Hamid, Training and Placement Officer (MTTM), Department of Commerce, AMU.
“During the physical internship at an agency, students only get to know and learn those aspects where that agency is specialised in. But in the online training, VOIT is giving a 360-degree view of the travel, tourism and hospitality business,” stated Prof Nawab Ali Khan (Chairman, Department of Commerce, AMU).
Prof Mohd. Nasir Zamir Qureshi (Dean, Faculty of Commerce, AMU) said that “The primary objective of this online summer training is the holistic development of students through comprehensive training and education. It is encouraging to see industry experts coming forward to associate with such initiatives and for conducting online training sessions for students during pandemic”.
