Two Youth From MP Drown While Bathing In Sangam, Six People Have Met Similar Fate In The Past Five Days
Prayagraj, May 22 (TNA) In a tragic incident in Sangam area, two youngsters drowned while having a bath to beat the hot summers on Monday, police said. The accident happened at around 10 am. Water police and divers have started searching after other people taking bath raised an alarm.
It is said that Bablu (23) and Aditya (28), residents of Satna, Madhya Pradesh, had come to Prayagraj and reached Sangam to take bath in the morning. Apart from the Sangam, searches are also being done at the Arail Ghat on the other side of the Sangam. Even after several hours have passed, there is no trace of them.
In Prayagraj, there has been an incident of drowning of six youths in the Ganga within five days. On Thursday, two students of B.Tech from MNNI, Dipendra Singh, resident of Alwar Rajasthan and Vikas Maurya, resident of Bhikharipur, Mau drowned while bathing in the Ganges at Shivkuti, whose dead body was recovered two days later. Students Chahat Dwivedi and Krishna Mishra, residents of Shantipuram Phaphamau, drowned in Ganga near Phaphamau on Saturday.
The next day the body was found in the water under the Curzon Bridge. Not even two days have passed since the incident that again two students are being reported drowned in Sangam. Due to increasing heat, a large number of people are going for Ganga and Sangam bath. Due to lack of estimation of the depth at the ghats, they are going deep leading to such tragedies, a local boatman informed.
