Uncontrolled Truck Overturns, Falls On Police Jeep On Agra-Lucknow Expressway In Kannauj, One Cop Killed

Kannauj, March 20 (TNA) A road accident took place near Thathia Mandi on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway late on Sunday night where a speeding truck driver lost control and the vehicle overturned on a police jeep, in which the constable was killed. A sub-inspector and two constables were also injured in the mishap.

All the injured have been admitted to the Medical College. The Police patrol jeep was parked on the expressway and as an overloaded truck coming from the direction of Lucknow lost control it overturned on the jeep.

Constable Raj Narayan Mishra (58), resident of Kota village under Bindki police station of Fatehpur, died on the spot in the accident. Constable Akil Khan, constables Vikas Gangwar and Gautamchandra, who were sitting in the jeep, were seriously injured.

After the accident, the driver and his assistant fled from the spot. The truck has been taken into custody by the police. The station in-charge told that the driver-operator are being searched.
