Under-construction Roof Of Cinema Hall Collapses In Amroha, Two Labourers Killed
Amroha, July 23 (TNA) Two persons have died and seven others injured when the under-construction roof of a cinema hall caved in on Sunday, police said. The deceased were daily wagers who were working on the site.
Some more labourers are feared to be buried under the debris and police is overseeing the relief operation.
Taking note of the incident, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed NDRF and SDRF teams to join the rescue operation. He has also directed the concerned officials to ensure proper treatment of the injured persons.
The mishap took place at the the Madhav Cinema Hall located on Azad Road of Amroha. The cinema hall was in dilapidated condition and was being demolished to make way for a new structure. Simultaneously work was also underway for construction of new space.
Top officials including DM Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, SP Aditya Langhe, SDM Pratibha Singh, CFO Anil Kumar also reached the spot and took stock of the entire incident.
DM Rajesh Kumar Tyagi has said that the contractor was negligent and he has ordered officials to find out if the ongoing construction had the necessary permissions or not.
