Lucknow, February 22 (TNA) The tie of farmers against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to the fore on Monday when its senior leaders, including ministers, were booed by angry villagers in wester Uttar Pradesh.

A video, apparently shot by a villager in Bhainswal village of Shamli, shows villagers shouting anti-BJP slogans in presence of union minister Sanjeev Balyan and a minister in the UP government, Suresh Rana. Balyan is BJP MP from Muzaffarnagar.

The villagers are also seen in the video as shouting Kisan Ekta Zindabad and BJP Murdabad. (Down with BJP and long live farmer unity). The video has been shared many times on social media by Congress leaders and many others.

Farmers unrest against three farm laws moved by the Modi government finally seems to be spilling in the countryside, many political observers feel.
