UP Asks Lucknow Airport Officials Not To Allow Landing Of Aircrafts Carrying Chattisgarh CM, Punjab Deputy CM
Lucknow, Oct 4 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday asked director of Airports Authority of India (AAI) in Lucknow not to allow the flight of Chattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Singh Baghel and Deputy chief minister of Punjab, Sukhjinder S Randhawa to land at the airport. Both the leaders are slated to go to meet farmers at Lakhimpur Kheri.
An official said this was in continuance with its efforts to ensure that there is no law and order breakdown in the state owing to the influx of political leaders in the aftermath of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in which eight people were killed on Sunday.
UP Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi in a missive to the AAI director has said that this was necessary as a law and order situaion had emerged in the state following the clashes in Lakhimpur Kheri. He also informed airport authorities that Lakhimpur Kheri district administration had clamped prohibitory orders in the district.
