Lucknow, April 24 (TNA) After constituting a judicial commission to investigate the on-camera murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, the Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a two-member judicial commission to investigate the encounter of Atiq's sons Asad and sharp shooter Ghulam. Retired High Court judge Rajeev Lochan Mehrotra and retired DG Vijay Kumar Gupta will investigate the Jhansi encounter.

Since the murder of Umesh Pal, the police was on the lookout for Guddu Muslim and other murderers including Asad and Ghulam. After the location of Guddu Muslim was tracked, the police increased vigilance on the Jhansi border.

On April 13, Asad and Ghulam were encountered after the STF and police team near the dam of the power plant. Many questions were raised on this encounter by political eladers and opposition parties who termed it as a “staged encounter” and “cold blooded murder”.
