UP Cop Shoots Self Dead After Wife Hangs Herself In Chitrakoot

Chitrakoot, April 23 (TNA) In a tragic incident, a constable of the Uttar Pradesh pulled the trigger on self and died. An hour before this tragedy, his wife had hanged herself at their home.

According to police officials, there was domestic strife in the family and the duo chose the extreme step to take their lives because of that only. The incident happened in Devkali village falling under the Raipura police station.

The cop has been identified as Mayank Kumar Patel who was posted in the government railway police (GRP) in Jhansi.

He shot himself from his service weapon after his wife died last night due to suicide. Neighbours told the police that Mayank had returned hom, after election duty in Bijnore only a day back. Both the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and a probe has been launched to investigate the deaths.
