Lucknow, February 5 (TNA) UP DGP Prashant Kumar has given clear instructions that in case of an incident, the response time to reach the spot should be reduced and that foot patrolling should be done regularly. This, he underlined, should be done by changing the places, so that the police remain visible at important places and there is continuous contact and communication with the public.

He also asked to evaluate the requirement of resources and police force in view of the Lok Sabha elections. Through video conferencing at the police headquarters on Sunday, the DGP instructed all the police commissioners, ADG zones, IG ranges and police captains of the districts to exercise effective control over the criminals and take strict action against those who spoil the atmosphere. Checking and verification of history sheeters should be done. Body-worn cameras should be used by police personnel while on duty. Incidents of cow slaughter should be prevented at any cost, the top cop said.

Immediate action should be taken against misleading and objectionable posts in coordination with the social media team at the headquarters. Sensitivity should be exercised in matters related to women and children. Under the Mission Shakti programme, women constables must be sent to the field. Officials should pay more attention to public hearings. Continuous feedback should be taken from public representatives.
