UP Government Dismisses Cop Accused Of Sexually Abusing A Woman

Lucknow, April 11 (TNA) The Yogi Adityanath government has cracked whip on Deputy Superintendent of Police (CO) Navneet Nayak in Patti Kotwali of Pratapgarh, accused of sexual abuse of a woman from Madhya Pradesh by dismissing him from service. A case of rape was registered against Nayak, as he is accused of refusing to marry after having a physical relationship with the girl.

The government had suspended Navneet Nayak in the past. He was the CO of Patti Circle of Pratapgarh in the year 2019. During that time a woman from Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh) used to come to meet him, Navneet Nayak also used to go to a hotel in Pratapgarh to meet him. In the meantime, both of them had a physical relationship. But later on some matter they got separated.

After the rift, Navneet Nayak refused to marry the woman. On this the woman complained to the government. The government had got the matter investigated by former SP Anurag Arya. On investigation the allegations were found to be true. After this, the government suspended him and attached him to the DGP office. At that time he was the Puwaya Circle Incharge of Shahjahanpur.
