UP Health Official Who Issued Orders For Names In Hospitals To Be In Urdu As Well Suspended
Lucknow, Sep 14 (TNA) An official of the health department has been suspended by the UP government for arbitrarily issuing orders that to government hospitals and officials write names in Hindi as well as in Urdu, the second official language of the state. According to information, Dr. Tabassum Khan, Joint Director (Primary Health Center), had issued these orders and that she has been suspended.
This action has been taken against her on the charge of indiscipline by senior Medical and Health Department officials. It has been alleged that she had issued orders in a manner without bringing the matter to the notice of her higher officials.
Dr. Tabassum had issued this order on September 1, 2022 on a plaint of Mohammad Harun, resident of Unnao who had demanded that when Urdu has been given the status of the second official language of the state in October 1989, then why are the names of hospitals and officials not being written in Hindi and Urdu.
